200-HOUR YOGA TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM
Awaken the Teacher Within
Immerse yourself in a transformative 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training designed to deepen your practice and empower you with the tools to confidently lead others on their yoga journey. This comprehensive training weaves together the ancient wisdom of yoga with a functional, modern approach to movement, mindfulness, and teaching.
What You’ll Learn:
Yoga History & Philosophy
Explore the roots of yoga through its classical texts, including the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita. Understand the philosophical foundations that inform ethical living, spiritual growth, and the deeper purpose of practice.
Sanskrit
Gain familiarity with key Sanskrit terms, chants, and posture names. Learn to pronounce and understand their meanings to honor the tradition and enhance your teaching vocabulary.
Meditation & Pranayama
Develop a daily meditation and breathwork practice. Learn classical pranayama techniques and meditation methods that balance the nervous system, cultivate inner awareness, and support mental clarity.
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
Study the Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series and learn the Short Form with a focus on breath, bandhas, and drishti. Learn how this structured system builds discipline, strength, and mindfulness in practice.
Functional Anatomy & Physiology
Explore the body’s systems through the lens of movement and yoga. Understand tension and compression, joint structure, muscle function, and energetic pathways to make your teaching safe, intelligent, and inclusive.
Asana, Functional Alignment, & Assists
Deepen your understanding of asana through a functional movement perspective. Learn how to teach and modify poses for different bodies, give hands-on assists safely, and create intelligent, balanced sequences.
Yin Yoga & Sound Healing
Delve into the slower, meditative practice of Yin Yoga to access deeper connective tissues and emotional layers. Experience the healing power of sound through instruments like singing bowls, gongs, and mantra as a pathway to stillness and integration.
Whether you aspire to teach or simply wish to enrich your own practice, this training offers a powerful journey of self-discovery, connection, and embodied wisdom. Upon completion, you’ll be a certified 200-hour yoga teacher, ready to share the practice with authenticity, confidence, and heart.
About Your Teachers:
Samantha Walker began practicing and teaching yoga at her alma mater, Stephen F. Austin State University, in 2010. Her practice is deeply rooted in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and Vipassana Meditation through the Pattabhi Jois, David Williams, and Jonny Kest lineage. She has taught yoga classes and trained yoga teachers all over Houston in various yoga studios and gyms since 2012. In her classes, her goal is to guide students inward and encourage them to listen to their bodies. Yoga helps to heal the body mentally, physically, and emotionally from the inside out. “The more we can feel, the more we can heal.” Samantha is an E-RYT 500 and RPYT
Hailing from Dallas, Jerrilyn Parker spent her younger years acting in plays. Eventually, she packed up her love for theatre and music and moved to the diverse Bayou City to attend the University of Houston. She developed a consistent yoga practice after the birth of her third child. Yoga helped her recover from giving birth and her daily activities as a stay-at-home mom for a newborn, toddler, and two school-age children. Yoga has taught Jerrilyn that transformation can be experienced in the body and the mind through breathing. She is an E-RYT 500, PRYT, and YACEP
